Recently, we were featured in the Tea and Coffee Trade Journal regarding our partnership with Friends of Manatee Lagoon. Here's what they had to say in the article, "Manatee Coffee joins forces with Friends of Manatee Lagoon:"
Manatee Coffee, the “Coffee with a Cause,” is marking a new chapter in its conservation mission by teaming up with Friends of Manatee Lagoon, a nonprofit organization in the US dedicated to raising awareness about manatees and the challenges they face in Florida’s aquatic ecosystems. This collaboration highlights both organizations’ shared commitment to fostering environmental education and conservation.
“At Manatee Coffee, our mission has always been to support the preservation of these gentle giants and their habitats,” said Nick Thompson, director of marketing at Manatee Coffee. “Partnering with Friends of Manatee Lagoon allows us to amplify our impact and further engage the community in conservation efforts. Every sip of our coffee is a step towards protecting Florida’s manatees and promoting healthier marine ecosystems.”
Friends of Manatee Lagoon, located along the Lake Worth Lagoon estuary in Riviera Beach, FL, operates as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The nonprofit raises funds to support inspiring exhibits, environmental education programs like the community seagrass restoration program, and applying conservation initiatives that protect manatees and their habitats.
“We are delighted to partner with Manatee Coffee, a company whose mission aligns so seamlessly with our own,” said Anne Messer, executive director of Friends of Manatee Lagoon. “Collaborations like this are vital in expanding the reach of our educational and conservation programs, and we are excited about the possibilities this partnership will bring.”
The partnership launches with an emphasis on supporting Friends of Manatee Lagoon’s key initiatives, including ManateeFest 2025, a family-friendly event celebrating manatees and environmental stewardship. Taking place on Saturday 1 February 2025, at Manatee Lagoon – An FPL Eco-Discovery Center, the free event features live music, educational exhibits, face painting, photo opportunities with Mia the Manatee, and much more. Manatee Coffee’s support underscores its dedication to community engagement and marine conservation.
Since its inception, Manatee Coffee has championed partnerships with nonprofits dedicated to the protection of manatees and their habitats. To date, the company has contributed over $75,750 to organizations such as Save the Manatee Club, The Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida, Clearwater Aquarium, and Mote Marine Laboratory.
