Yes, Manatee Coffee is and always has been a Florida-based company. Our leadership team and their families reside in “manatee country” on the East Coast of Southern Florida, very close to a nature preserve where there is a manatee viewing area. We also regularly donate to two Florida-based manatee protection organizations, Save the Manatee Club and Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium.

Additionally, through the Adopt-A-Manatee® program, we have adopted Ariel, a rescued manatee in southeastern Florida. Ariel is an “ambassador for all manatees” who spends her days in the Fish Bowl underwater observatory at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park on the West Coast of Florida.

With that said, to help us save on the exorbitant costs of international coffee sourcing, mass-scale coffee production, and shipping across the United States, we have been partnering with a family-owned, values-based coffee co-packer in central Indiana. Rest assured, they share our company values and commitment to supporting manatees and their habitats. So when you receive your coffee, the address will say Indiana, but it will always have the heart of Florida in every bag and box.

Manatee Coffee takes great pride in sourcing, blending, and roasting the finest coffees to create our signature smooth taste. But we also fundamentally believe in giving back to nonprofits who have made the most significant impact on the preservation of manatees. As the original "Coffee with a Cause," our donations are integral to our brand, and we are proud to make donations to a growing number of environmentally-centered nonprofits every year.

Manatee Coffee donates to trusted national nonprofit organizations and research institutions that make the most significant impact on supporting manatees and their habitats. Each year we commit to giving to each of the nonprofits featured on our About Our Cause page.

Manatee Coffee aims to maximize the impact of its charitable donations. To that end, we make an annual assessment of both the organizations we support and how they are supporting manatees and their habitats. After this evaluation, we determine how to apportion our charitable giving based on need and impact. We give incremental preference to organizations actively working to mitigate and reverse the effects of how human-related activities have harmed manatees.

Adopt a real manatee. Unlike other animal adoption programs, manatees in Save the Manatee Clubs's Adopt-A-Manatee® program are real, living manatees with known histories. Select a manatee and receive an adoption certificate with full-color photo and a biography of a real Florida or Alabama manatee, along with other newsletters and rewards.
